וְיֹֽשְׁבֵיהֶן֙ קִצְרֵי־יָ֔ד חַ֖תּוּ וַיֵּבֹ֑שׁוּ הָי֞וּ עֵ֤שֶׂב שָׂדֶה֙ וִ֣ירַק דֶּ֔שֶׁא חֲצִ֣יר גַּגּ֔וֹת וּשְׁדֵפָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י קָמָֽה׃
Deshalb waren ihre Bewohner von geringer Macht. Sie waren bestürzt und verwirrt. Sie waren wie das Gras des Feldes und wie das grüne Kraut, wie das Gras auf den Hausdächern und wie Mais, der gesprengt wurde, bevor er erwachsen wurde.
